RUFA EXTENDS VSLA TO LEPERS IN THE ANKAFUL COMMUNITY

RURAL FOCUS AFRICA (RUFA); a local NGO, in collaboration with SURRENDER 365 INC based in US, and the Lepers Aid Committee, Ghana has extended Community-Based Financial Scheme (using Village Savings and Loans-VSLA Model) to Lepers in the Ankaful Community in the Central Region of Ghana.

The objective of the Project is to build the capacity of Lepers in Ankaful in VSLA and entrepreneurship to improve their livelihood. This involves building the capacity of the lepers and their family members in VSLA to enable them have access to finance, train them in financial literacy and entrepreneurship and link them to a financial institution.  

The project which was initially for a one (1) year period, has been extended for another one (1) year due to its successful implementation. The Partners are exploring the possibility of extending the scheme to all the Lepers Communities in Ghana.
